“Janet! Donkeys!” Rooftop Party
If the door guy says to you, “Janet?” He’s asking for the password. The password is… oh you know what the password is.
Bring a favorite sentence from David Copperfield for our first in-person Symphony of Sentences.
We will be playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey and Kathryn Rathke will be autographing Dickens posters. Admission to the party is $50 per person (significant others and friends are welcome) and Dickens posters drawn by Kathryn are $20 each.
Sunday, May 29, Mezcaleria Oaxaca, 422 E Pine St, 4 pm to 8 pm. Note: Mezcaleria is not open on Sundays, but they are opening just for us, because they are amazing. Mezcaleria is 21+.
Cool fact about this place: every employee is Mexican. Its open-air but partially covered rooftop is breezy and very well ventilated and much safer for covid than other venues.

When the door guy says, "Janet?" You say "Donkeys." And if you have a ticket, he will show you to the roof.
This poster by Kathryn Rathke is 13"x16.5."

A roof with a view.

It was closed when this picture was taken. Imagine it set up for a party.

Is that Aunt Betsey's birdcage?

This end of the rooftop is fully open-air.

Taco truck on the roof. A feat of engineering.

Tacos de Canasta are so yummy. Chips and guacamole, churros, and two drinks are also included in the ticket price.

Walls full of art and floor-to-ceiling windows inside.

This place itself is a work of art.

Will it rain? Won't it? Either way, we're good.

Don't you just want to get down to your socks and slide across this long table?

The stairs to the roof.

Should we have a piñata? Hmm. Maybe.
